As a junior she competed, becoming Club Champion, Hampshire Schools Champion, Surrey Champion, Southern Area Silver Medallist, representing the South Of England at the National Championships at Crystal Palace, as well as a National Silver Medalist.

Sarah gained her 1st Dan Judo in 1993, but was unfortunately prevented (through injury) from attempting her 2nd Dan in 1994.
She also holds a 2nd degree Black Belt in Ju Jitsu and is the founder and chief instructor of Sen Ran Ju Jitsu Kai.
